Re: few inquiries....
Hi well come to the forum.you have purchased so many fruit trees.first of you should have made an idea how much to plant.it depends on the land you have spared for your fruit trees.then make clear which tree will really grow & produce fruit in your location.its very good if there are some orchards near your location.go to the professional growers & ask what is most suitable in your area.please do remember that trees need so many space.so you have to plan very carefully.what you are planting today is its not well planned you may cut it with an ax after some years.
keep all factors in mind then make your shopping list.another thing this is not the right time for planting fruit trees.two things are there.first you can not get registered plant these days.if you plant a low quality fruit.after some years when it start production & the fruit is not meeting your expectations then what.secondly winter is arriving.the frost will almost stop the growth of your plants.the frost can even kill young fruit plants.
you have plus point that you can visit Patokki so need to purchase at Lahore.but first also get some information the nursery you are going to visit.many nurser men for the sake of small profits can spoil your many years hard work.they sale lemon trees & say these are kino trees.

Re: few inquiries....
Nice to hear about your collection, but think about the space as well and the final size of the trees. I also did the same mistake of buying so many plants without planning and the tree have become huge. I didn't know about the agarwood tree. But I read your link. It is a tropical tree but the difficulty, as you may have read, is that a fungus first attacks the tree wood and then the tree produces the fragrant material as a response. Even if the tree grows well, you have to check whether that fungus can grow in our environment. For that you need professional horticulturist's advice.fa113nang311 wrote: u didn't answer about agarwood tree which also called liquid gold. thanx

Here you are doing the mistake.Coconut palm only grows in sub-tropical or tropical port land areas.it will not even grow in Lahore.Pineapple will grow to some extent but it will not produce quality fruits.it will produce only show quality small fruits.its also port land fruit.both the fruits are suit able for Karachi,s climate but not for Lahore.grow quality mango varieties,Lychee fruit, guava, papaya F-1 Red lady,Bahlwal,s Kinow ,musami, loukat in your area.for home culture Mango Sensation is best(dwarf compact plant)

2. Catnip = Bad'rang boya
3-8 too difficult to find a local name.
What I suggest if you are interested in purchasing these plants visit good nurseries and show the pictures on the laptop etc. Even if they don't know the English or Urdu they can recorgnize the pictures.

thanx 4 the advise umar. but i think it will survive here as i live on the outskirts of lahore where the weather is much better than middle lahore. and secondly my mali have successfully planted and grown the coconut palm near by my house without any complications. he says its the first two years to take care and then its all fine from there onwards. liked ur idea abt mango sensation and red lady papaya. will surely get them. have to check local nurseries for them. if any knows where to get them let me know.
thanx

Re: few inquiries....
The double Apple you have purchased, do you expect it to fruit in Lahore? Which varieties are grafted on which root stock?
What is the Chill period required by each type for fruiting?
