They all come out at the same time, between last week of May to 2nd week of June, what is the trigger?

YES,Izhar wrote:I like its foliage too... a small bed of this plant in semi shade will look beautiful..
Problem of planting in bed is that you lose all tracks when the bulbs are dormant in winter.
I had many and lost almost all by GODI of an idiot mali. Last couple of years I was growing them in confine of rim of a broken tub.
The tub disintegrated in 2 years UV exposure, so they are back in containers

Re: Foot ball lily
Adnan, your bulbs didn't multiplied as you lift them out from the soil.. and maybe this is the reason of not blooming (however, there can be many other reasons too).. let their foliage die naturally and then store the complete pot with bulb..
My bulb is planted 3-4 inches deep in bed and has already produced 3 pups.. I will not disturb it till we change this house..

Feed them well, rest is immaterial, you can leave them in ground/pots or pull them out and plant in April. I plant mineat ground leval.Syed Adnan wrote:Marvellous, i love these lillies, i have two bulbs for last 2 years, this year there is no bloom but only foilage, anybody knows the reason, i lift the bulb in winter and plant them again in MAy.

Thanks for the advise , i will follow this.
By the way where in Lahore i can get these as i tried oi contact CHANNAN DIN and he refused although he gave me imported Amaryllus which when bloomed appeared to be Common star Lilly, so i was being bluffed. Also if anybody can tell me about Lilliums, their foilage has dried and they are in a pot, shall i lift them or keep them in soil outdoors, will the same plant bloom again ?
