Peach blossom are also bigger in size and they required less chill hours also around 300 hours compared to 1000hours cherry blossom needed. You can also try plum it can also be growing here.

I am attaching a pic also of a tree I come cross in bagh e jinnah lahore...the name mentioned on it was millettia glaucescens (malitia) I googled it but can't find any thing about it,back to tree it looks like apricot tree to me ...it only bloom once a year in march for a week.

Peaches are very nice in Mardan & Peshawar.it is produces so many fruit.if it can flower here & can give yields in Mardan i think it should bloom at Lahore.i think Early grain will be the fittest variety for Lahore.its fruits ripe in mid April in Mardan orchards.

But 8 no is for Swat due to the more chill hours it need.so Early grain will be the best for you in Lahore because there is slight difference in Lahore,s & Peshawar,s climate.

Not peach. Milletia species most probably millettia ovalifolia. Check this post of mine if it is same flower? http://www.lahoregardening.com/2011/04/ ... crape.html. Pinnata species is also common in lahore.

Peach can be grown in lahore in soil bed. It does flower easily, fruiting is not guaranteed. It does not like the summer heat of lahore. Do not compare with old specimens at Lawrence gardens, they are mature very tough plants. May be 50 years ago, temperature of lahore was lower than these years, chill factor is very important for these trees.

I think we need a low chill variety to try. Specially designed for hot climates.

I would agree to Umar Khan. Even the local nashpati i bought is not performing well, small plant, due to extreme heat. Do this when weather climbs down.
