Which plant to grow????

what about agapanthus, anemone, balloon flower, bergenia, bird of paradise, browallia, columbine, daylily, foxglove...do they grow and available in karachi????

agapanthus = Not an easy plant, haven't seen in Karachi, accept my own garden, have no idea about the frequency of blooming

anemone = for winters only, needs full sun

balloon flower = bloom once yearly, needs more sunlight

bergenia = havent seen in Karachi, havent grown it, so no idea

bird of paradise = needs full sun, large pot, bloom once or twice in year

browallia = for winters only, seen it only once at a nursery, as an annual

columbine = for winters, not grown in Karachi, but survives and blooms in Lahore

daylily = needs full sun and large space, ideal for ground

foxglove = for winters only as an annual in Karachi

I was asking them for my roof which gets full sun...by the way where can i get these seeds.. i have seen this link.....http://www.lahoregardening.com/2011/03/ ... rachi.html ....... but not sure that whose seeds are good ...from where do u buy??

In the first you can plant Brunfelsia latifolia.. it is available at the nurseries on Korangi Road by the name of Brunfelsia.. it is a fragrant plant and the flowers change color every day until they fall...

In the second you can plant Cane begonias, they are available in the nursery of Liaquat National hospital...

These are easy plants but require some inorganic fertilizers for better blooming and growth. It is suggested to buy any balanced chemical fertilizer and use 1/4th of the recommended concentration weekly.. for Brunfelsia, it is recommended to buy Ferrous Sulfate and use 1 teaspoon in 2 liter of water every month..

Izhar, by saying the nursery of Liaquat National hospital... you meant nursery in front LNH?

No, i meant the nursery inside LNH.. its on the backside within LNH boundary...
