Brown leaves

I got this garlic vine one month ago from karachi.They were healthy though no new growth on them. In small plastic pots. I transplanted them into bigger 12 inches clay pots. Put in partial shade and watered regularly. Suddenly i saw the leaves turning brown. Not just tips, whole leaf is brown. But some leaves are still green. Some of leaves i saw were green but turned crispy.


I also used same potting mix for another plant got from karachi but it is growing fine. Only problem is with these 2 garlic vines. You can see green healthy leaves as well as brown one on same plant. Transplanted one of them into soil bed finally. Still no new growth.

Over watering, over fertilizing, heat, soggy soil, less air circulation & plant genetics all play role in this. I think you are over pampering your plant

Already in shade so can not reduce the heat. However less water and less fertilization will save the plant?

hopefully, one of my relatives had a bed of Mint under a tree, when they pruned the tree the mint was exposed to direct sunlight and started turning brown/purple and its growth was halted despite frequent watering, but after some time it started growing back as usual. Changing the leave color also indicates the stress condition of that plant.

It often happens with me.Dont worry, the leaves will fall off and your plant will set new leaves.In case it doesn't , plant another local plant in the same pot.Happy Gardening

Jokes aside.I buy plants from all corners of the globe and it happens often.The leaves will turn brown.Sometimes the plant will set new leaves and sometimes i ll not be lucky.I believe it has something to do wid roots being over exposed.

I agree with Izhar, it could also be lack of iron in the soil

However I go with what Izhar has mentioned
