Dear Moderators.
First of all I would like to congratulate you and thankful to you for such a helpful Platform for Gardening in Pakistan. Basically I am an agri engineer having expertise in Landscape Design & Pressurized Irrigation System. Recently I am working with a Group of Companies as a Horticulturist (Maintenance & Development). Now I am planning to design a Rose Garden. I haven’t work with Rose before. So need help regarding Rose Gardens of Pakistan, Local & Imported Rose varieties, Exotic Rose verities and any other material regarding rose garden designing.
And I also want to know any reliable source for purchasing Rose Varieties from Pattoki, Lahore or somewhere else.
Looking hopeful for reply.

Re: Need Help Regarding Rose
For rose planted in landscape you must have those varieties which are suitable for hot climate.. if you can then try to buy the roses bred by Indian breeders, these are well adopted to our climate... Changa nursery in Pattoki can provide you very large variety of english roses but you have to search about their growth habit and heat tolerance.. roses behave very differently in different climate for e.g. Graham Thomas is an Austin rose (english origin) which behaves like bush/short climber in their climate but when grown in warm regions, it becomes very vigorous climber reaching above 10 feet..!!

Re: Need Help Regarding Rose
Dear Naveed Sb, Here is a highly detailed database of roses which can be grown in Pakistan with pictures in our forum. The information was added by a rose enthusiast two years ago. It looks quite reliable.

Re: Need Help Regarding Rose
Dear Izhar thanks for dragging me towards behavior of Roses towards climate. Definitely regard this point while choosing the varieties.
Can you please elaborate your opinion regarding planting Rose in Pots as study says it's late to plant Rose in March & Me still in Designing Process.
Is it better to initially put the rose in pots and upon reaching favorable conditions in Sep or Oct transplant it in Flower bed.

Dear Farooq, Thanks alot you save my time. It's really took me hard to collect all that data for design process.
I barely found data regarding some varieties..
But the info providing in the given link is very concise and succinct.
Thanks alot again.
