. I also water my plants in the morning for the same reasons as mentioned above by Hamad.My experince is that:
> If good/heavy watering( not light shower) is done in the morning,sufficient moisture stays in the soil till evening to easily last till next morning,thus the plant does not undergo any stress.
> Conversely,if watering is done in the evening,relatively much greater %age of water evaporates instantly as the soil/air temperature at that time- even around one hr before sunset is much higher(5+deg,even 8-9 deg on hot days) than even 2-3 hrs after sunrise,thus relatively lesser quantity of water is absorbed/retained by soil,which in turn is available to the plant for next 24 hrs,compared to watering in the evening.It would thus be seen in case of watering in the evening that the soil generally dries up by mid day and by evening it might get 'baked' in some soil conditions,causing avoidable stress to the plant.
. Another important factor is convenience; I think,morning time is more convenient in many ways & to most people who have to carry out this task themselves.
. Hope there are more views on this important basic gardening activity, so that we reach a definite conclusion.
