Brig Saheb the single large gardenia is taitensis. It's double version is called taitensis heavens scent. It's always difficult for me to gauge gardenia fragrance since it varies so much on the same plant. However, for perspective I'll say if there are 2-3 blooms you can smell in form maybe 5 feet away. My nose is wired a little different, often I can smell the flower better from a distance than putting my nose to it...
