What should I do with it?

Assalam Alykum, this is my lovingly Dieffenbachia plant, for the last 3 months, its going to be remain as viewed in the picture.If I would cut its upper white area and remain its green stem? plz tell me what to do? and what is GO DEE karna?? tell me if someone got my point. thank you.

no need to cut white part just release the leaf from this shield(cover which saves new shoot)...your leaf is stuck within this shield.place it in a shady place and give proper water. godi karna is known as hoeing in English.it is process of aeration the soil by lightly digging.Common goals include weed control by agitating the surface of the soil around plants, piling soil around the base of plants and making it easy for roots to get oxygen.

WSA, in addition to what is stated by Hammad bhai, you can gently try this: Gently wash the soil off from the pot by a jet of water from the water hose. I think this plant is dead, at least the roots are, because it should not have stayed the way it is for 3 months. Once you wash off the soil, check that the lower portion is dead or soft, chop that portion away. Insert that healthy stem in "freshly prepared soil and it should give off roots in a month or so. Dieffenbachia does not like over watering at all and it needs little bit of sunlight and protection from wind.

You also have the option of buying a new and healthy plant :-)

Yes, as per Farooq... i too feel that it has been rotted at soil level, otherwise it is a very easy and rewarding plant...

thanks bro for a such a good advise to buy a new healthy plant. It doesn't matter but when you have plants at home and when they are gonna be dead or infected by disease, in this circumstances you won't let them go. thank you again.

Plants, like all living beings on this Earth, fall sick, get diseases and eventually die. Assuming there is no cynicism in the statements above,...the point we were trying to make was that you can still check the roots, most likely the bottom part is rotten. The top is not getting the food and showing no sign of growth. Simply hoeing might not work. Good luck!
