Confusion about Magnolias and Datura's

The Magnolia champaca is a young plant but about 4 feet, the Magnolia Liliifera are shrubs about 3 feet. The chmapaca has been in the soil since Feb. Though it is not looking too happy and not putting out many new leaves but the leaves are still green and it doesn't look too bad. My artabotrys vine is similarly doing not too well but it is still hanging in there. The liliifera I just put in the ground a week ago and seem OK to me. I guess if they don't flower for a year I will consider they are not worth the space. If they die, problem solved!

Arif shb, did you grow Michelia champaca from seeds? And could you share the source of your seeds? I have never seen Michelia champaca-the true orange one. Where does it naturally grow in Pak? What is available in Karachi was Michelia champaca "alba" whose perfume was not impressive. Although that particular nursery doesn't have any more specimen. The perfum was very mild.

Acualy friends only Magnolia Grandiflora is practical in our summers.all other Magnolias grow well in Hilly satations.i have seen one in F.F.mess,Abbottabad oh my GOD i cant forget the tree full of pink flower,not even a single leaf.flowers full of perfume.i got one air layred plant of it and planted in Islamabad but the summer killed it.last time i seen some Magnolias in Swat.

Magnolia Alba is listed for zone 11 even. Anyone tried that in Lahore?
