Excellent show...maybe someday I'll try clematis too. They say they look good with roses.

The best thing about Sieboldii is that it tends to blooms twice during the year. Once during the spring and later in the Fall.

I reckon that the name of your clematis is "Hagley Hybrid'. I suspect that camera was not able to capture it true colour which is light pink. This is a very good cultivar and flowers profusely.

Clematis are good companions to roses.
Please elaborate; If planted in the rose bed, the plant twining through the rose bush or if the pots are kept in the rose bed. If planted in ground how big the plant gets, please show pictures of whole plant especially when in full bloom.

Some shrubs tend to remain small (height upto 6 feet) like Hagley Hybrid or Durandii. Others like Florida Sieboldii and Sweet Autumn Clematis cross over 8 feet. Clematis belonging to group 3 like the Viticella varieties need heavy pruning. Those in Group 2 like Sieboldii light pruning.

They need to be planting in an area where they get sunlight from morning till 11-am and shade during the afternoon and a well drained soil. If roses are planted in an area with good drainage and shade during the afternoon, Clematis can be planted a distance of atleast 2-3 feet with a pillor structure to support them. The reason why can be termed as companion could be due to their preference for the same soil ph, fertlizer and bloom time which tends to coincide.

Personally i would'nt advise scrambling a clematis over a rose as both have different pruning schedules. However 2 year old plants should be planting in atleast an 18 inch container. The best soil mix for them is 60% peat, 30% Bhul patta,some perlite along with pine barks. Or alternatively they give good results when planted in John Innes Compost (available at Pride seeds) with some perlite.

You are right with name and color. Last year, have bought new Olympus camera but I was not satisfied with the result. Now changed the camera with Sony cybershot 16.2 MP and G series lens. Camera is quite expensive but I am satisfied with its results.

Beautiful blue clematis. Looks splendid. Clematis roots tend to grow quickly often reaching the end of the pots. My two year old clematis roots have touch the end of the 14 inch pot within an year. I would have to plant them in an 18 inch pot.

I received these from USA, one of my best friend sent me five years ago. She has more than 50 varieties in her garden. In winters, leaves died and in spring sprout again. Clematis loves shaded and cold feet but leaves and blooms love sun light up to 12'o clock. These days I am layering my plants and hope will be enough for members.
