Re: need Identification of these roses.
Mahmood shb, your black rose is amazing. My brother was very fond of roses and we always looked for some rare colours. We had found a green rose (with light green flowers) and a purple one. Don't know their names. I always wanted to see black roses but never had a chance see one. Most of them we had were dark maroon but very fragrant. Is your black rose fragrant too? Can anyone tell the name?
@ Umar shb your rose collection and knowledge of varieties is enviable. But you can add one more, the unattainable, in your collection- a blue rose. Until recently, it was known that nobody can make a rose blue. But while searching for this black rose, I came to know that people have made a blue rose by genetic modification in 2008. Here is its picture: I didn't like the colour since it looks more purple. What is your say on blue roses?

Aoa Farooq sb.actually true blue & black do not exist.the black looking rose is actually dark maroon.some times the dark red turn into deepest red when becomes old.all blues are actually lavender, purples are revert pinks.the blue the Japanese claim is not a true blue. Green Romantica is a light green developed by Mieland,France.but in warmer climates its not that much green.in colder climates its light green just like culiflower heads.
But Farooq sb one day black & true blue will exist just like the purest of yellows & red.i dont remeber the first yellow but crimson glory was the first red.
