My Observation

Post by javed khaanzada »

Dear friends,

Yesterday I bought eight plants of Motia. These all are hardly 10 to 12 inches high. Each plant has nearly 10 to 14 flowers. I asked them, what is the reason that at very short height they are blooming to much, while when we get them in home they stopped to give such flowers in bulk, he said proper watering and animal manure....I think they must have some Geedar Singhi, which they avoide to share ..... ;)

AOA
Umar Khan is absolutely right. as few months back i have also seen the melon plants in small plastic containers. Plant were very small but were on flowers. I asked the same query from the relate person then he replied that actually it depends on the age of plants.Plant is matured thats why its on flowers.
Regards

Javed, most of us put these plants against a wall which prevents it from getting the complete sun.. mine gets its direct sun from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and nurserymen also place these plants in an open area... You can observe the difference by putting the individual plants in different locations with respect to sun exposure...

Yes, the plants grow beautifully when given plenty water and people ask why their vigorous plants produce lesser blooms. You will note that all the blooms are bored on the tips of new growth, so more the new growth more will be the blooms. In order to promote new growth you need to prune you plant regularly. In Karachi I have seen huge shrubs of these plants but less blooms, observe the difference yourself.

Sir, 1/4th of original is fine enough but the first prune of the season should be more hard say 3/4th of original.
