I assume you are referring to slaked lime, calcium hydroxide (choona). Slaked lime alone will do nothing and would last it's effect if there is any for few days. Although choona is extremely alkaline (pH 13 to 14) for few days but it eventually absorbs carbon dioxide from air and converts itself into calcium carbonate- a harmless powder (to pests/ fungus/ algae). However, slaked limed and copper sulfate mixture is an excellent fungicide for wood known for a long time. See the guidelines in this link:

I am not sure of the purpose of your wooden container. If you trying to grow plants in that container, then copper and lime would be toxic enough to harm your small plants. Typically this mixture is good for huge wooden tree trunks and woody vines.
