aykhan wrote:KBW they are extremely expensive. Petit sold their Teds Tribute to Linda for 7500 dollars. Prices come down as cultivar gets more common. When I got mine from them it was almost end of season so it was half price plus an extra one free so quarter the price. Then he was kind to me and sent me some extras and all were double or triple fans so price comes down further. Still daylilies this kind cannot be expected for less than $75 especially new cultivars. The Teds Tribute to Linda and Blue Eden was going for $300 and $350 single fan but due to the above sale and courtesy I think I got it for maybe $60 and it was two fans of each kind so technically $30.
Thanks for details. I never realised day lilies would be such phenomenally expensive plants...

There are much cheaper ones also. I got my Stella d'Oro for less than $2 per fan and it is supposed to be the earliest flowering and most repeat flowering daylily. There are hundreds if not thousands of repeat blooming daylilies for less than $5 or $10.

30 USD per fan, a good deal for such precious and unique blooms.
Four years before I had Stella d'Oro in my garden and disappeared without any indication.

Stella d'Oro is a dormant daylily so will disappear in winter only to reappear in summer. Maybe you lost it in the godi? I can give you Stella after blooming is done since I have many and can spare a couple. It is the best daylily for front of the border so I am planning a long bed with Stella in the front.

Yes the deal is good and I'm not even a wholesale vendor! Not sure if I can catch the same deal again. I think I have enough variety now to breed my own and probably don't really need another daylily unless something spectacular comes around at a good price. But you never know Kaleem Saheb I too am a collector sort of a Gardner and like a good challenge also. However, I know poor performers will be ripped out of my lawn and discarded.

I get really excited growing from seed but it requires effort and I have been slacking lately due to time constraints and lack of a knowledgeable Mali.

Here is the most ignored pot at my place. I rarely see it. I had two of these plants and put one in the ground and one in a pot. The pot is left in the garage at the mercy of the driver who occasionally waters it when he washes the car. While going out at night today I just glanced and saw this full of fragrant blooms! On the other hand the one in the ground doesn't even have a single flower! Go figure! Brunfelsia Americana or Lady of the Night. The daylily is a bonus pic :D
