I already mentioned in the post before the last picture. Most of my best daylilies were purchased directly from Petit http://www.petitdaylilies.com/ and Abundant Daylilies http://daylilies.net/ last summer.

Thank you so much for the link. They have a great collection of beautiful and new daylilies. Love those but very expensive. Do they ship their products to Pakistan?

Not sure, probably not. I recommend against it. Not worth the risk due to price.

Good suggestion.
Then please save seeds of your plants if they will produce. My daylily plants never set seeds and I dont know the reasons.

Kaleem Saheb daylily hybridization is extremely interesting; much more so than amaryllis hybridization. Some of the most expensive daylilys are so because they are excellent parents for size or certain color or certain type of border or eye, number of buds and maybe not so much for their beauty. Also some daylily are fertile one way and others both ways. Some are diploid and others tetraploid so you cannot cross pollinate the two. All these factors need to be considered before trying to pollinate. So as you can see if you don't know the name of your daylily you will not know the details of weather it can set seed or help in setting it.
I did a lot of research last year so apart from a few all my daylilies are tetraploid and fertile both ways. I am lazy and new to pollination but here and there I am able to go down in the morning to try and pollinate new blooms before the bees mess things up. I don't have time this season but I'm seriously considering storing pollen of different daylily this and next year and then open my PDF page to see which daylily I want to cross pollinate. It is interesting stuff but needs time and commitment which is not always there. Daylily pollen can remain viable upto 5 years if frozen.
Hopefully I can get some seeds this year.

Re: Random Spring 2013 @ AYK
KBW they are extremely expensive. Petit sold their Teds Tribute to Linda for 7500 dollars. Prices come down as cultivar gets more common. When I got mine from them it was almost end of season so it was half price plus an extra one free so quarter the price. Then he was kind to me and sent me some extras and all were double or triple fans so price comes down further. Still daylilies this kind cannot be expected for less than $75 especially new cultivars. The Teds Tribute to Linda and Blue Eden was going for $300 and $350 single fan but due to the above sale and courtesy I think I got it for maybe $60 and it was two fans of each kind so technically $30.

Bottom line ... just like for anything else you need to be in the right place at the right time.
