@Munir.......Virginia stock is altogether from different family than Phlox. Its one of the earliest bloomer, precisely 10 weeks from sowing. Its fragrant.

Nature has its unique ways. The colors and smell of the flowers are not meant for us humans, but pollinators, to attract them for pollination. If the flower is ordinary otherwise, There are all the more chances that it will be fragrant to allure pollinators.

Sir, I do not agree, the real propagation of these plants is by humans who have picked them from wild, improved them, made them more attractive and ensured their survival.

@Sir Arif , Let me clarify my point of view. Yes humans do propagate plants, let's say from seed. Where does that seeds come from, who has pollinated flowers to make them become seeds. Let's keep aside hand pollination as it's unnatural and practiced by few. There is no such thing as wild for plants, it's our perspective. Yes we do hybridize but that is selection and amalgamation of good traits, nothing can be created out of the blue. Fragrance and colors existed even before man knew what plant is....

@Izhar. Very easy. Frankly I forgot them after sowing and here they are flowering. When a set of flowers is finished I cut them back and they start making new
