fertilisers for roses

The roses I've talked about earlier in these posts are still not flowering but there leaves are growing repeatedly. It's been 2 months since the removal of suckers and transfer of them to larger pots but still not blooming Why is that??? :?: :?:

Rose flower in winter in Karachi. I am sure how well roses do in pots.

Secondly they don't like windy locations - if I remember correctly do you have them on the roof?

May be, post current pictures of your roses, and rose experts can input their advice.

My husband just bought some rose plants couple of days ago. Do I start adding the Npk fertilizer mentioned in the previous posts, now? And the cow manure? How often shall I add them? Is there a way for those who want to go the organic way?

As a new gardener, I think it will be safe if you start with well rotten cow manure. Chemical fertilizers can easily kill new plants, if added in larger amounts. Pots are more susceptible to overfeeding.

Desi (red, fragrant) roses are more robust...you can start with them.

i am using foliar npk 5 15 45, on about 40 roses, excellent results.

about 40 roses this season have given good numerous buds so far with water soluble npk foliar 5 15 45 npk. one tsp in two liters weekly applied.

I've never given fertilizer to my roses and Now I think that there is a need of it by the roses. If there are harmful effects to roses If we do not give them fertilizer? I don't know much about fertilizers and I want to know If foliar NPK 5 15 45 is good or bad for them. What is the method of application of it. Where in Karachi is NPK or other fertilizers are easily available? I generally buy seeds and pesticide of plants from the shop in front of Askari Park which is basically of plants.

dear mr mustansir, i recommend you get apply the foliar by a spray bottle easily available from same shop, 300 rs, whatever concentration the shop keeper tells you to apply, you reduce it to half and use weekly. also buy fungicide if u are serious for rose plants.
