Hi,
I am residing in Lahore. I have a one canal garden with Korean grass. After winters the grass has become really dried. There are white salts visible in the soil. I feel the plants are also not growing very well. 2 weeks back my maali spread Gobar Khaad in the grass and plants. which fertilizer should i use now and in what quantity?

No fertilizer at all.. the grass will be partially dormant due to winters.. use DAP (very lightly sprinkling) by mid March.. hope other grass growers chime in too..

thanx for your reply but what about Urea. I ve purchased it should i mix it DAP if yes then in what proportion?

Aoa Nadia,Izhar is right when grass is in dormancy only feed with DAP.it contains highy ratio of phosphorus & light ratio of nitrogen.phosphorus will develop the root system.as soon as the weather becomes hot you grass will shoot up.urea is actually Nitrogen,so it will stimulate green shoots.frost will kill the green shoots & destroy your grass.sprinkle urea only one time in a moth in summer when grass really needs it.also apply good quality micro nutrient liquid fertllizer after every 14 days when you cut down the grass.never feed with old cow manure.manure has many seeds of weeds also.it will be very hard to weed grass in summer.

Aoa I have just relocated my lawn...I had Korean grass on the previous lawn...I had cut some pieces of the grass along with roots for my new lawn...Now I have insert those pieces in my new lawn but the distance between grass is now more...guide me which fertilizer to u to help my grass grow quicker n greener..thanks

Thanks for the reply... How often should I use dap?? And what about urea can I use it tooand if yes then how much and when...

DAP is very popular in Pakistan, It is used indiscriminately. It is N_P_K 18-46-0 where as ratio recommended for lawns is NPK 16-4-8 or 4-1-2.

Also add 2oz of iron sulphate in 5 gallons of water per 1000sq feet, Rate for NPK 4-1-2 is 5Gm Nitrogen Quarterly starting March for three quarters only.
