Am waiting for it to do so this season, so I can post a picture on this forum. Also I wish some member would enlighten me on this phenomenan.
Here is a lovely account of the mystery behind Hibiscus color change. It is all about chemistry of flower pigments.

http://www.hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com/misc/colors.htm

Which description in the above link matches the phenomenon you see with your white flowers?

Your name please?
Pigment change, I have observed. You can also observe it in the picture of the double orange which is turning yellowish. What I am talking about is that the pure white one throws out a flower half of whose petals are pink and the remaing half pure white. If it happens this season, will post a picture.
It means the case you see with your whites is not described in the link?

Clarification: A) Is each petal half white and pink in that particular flower? or B) Few petals are completely white and few are completely pink?

Mr. Farooq:

You have asked "Clarification: A) Is each petal half white and pink in that particular flower? or B) Few petals are completely white and few are completely pink?"

Reply: "B" describes it. Few petals are white and few pink.

Then I guess, it is not due to chemical factors (heat, pH should uniformly affect the flower) but more due to genetics. I will ask a friend who is studying plant biology when I meet him. We have to know how the white Hibiscus is produced.

Your comment noted. But please could you guide me more for making posts in future,. I presume I make as posts in one place, instead of creating new threads all the time. Is this correct?

Its just an advisory, you can do whatever you want. I suggested that because that will be easier for you to track replies. I think you are doing a good job as you created thread for hibiscus etc.......What i would recommend is creating one thread each for similar plants like you have done for hibiscus and cacti etc....and make one general thread regarding you garden where you share random clicks.....Again its just a suggestion. You are free to do whatever you want ....i am nobody to tell :-)

Farhan you are not a nobody, you are the-body of this forum.

The idea about keeping the "random clicks" as a separate thread is good. With just a click and no text, the learning part is very little. It just gives a momentary delight to the eyes :-)
