All the plants that i would share in near future are from Thompson and Morgan. I would reiterate that i am impressed with the heat tolerance of these plants. They were sown together with other cool season annuals....and they are not willing to bolt sooner.

Sunflowers............
I am thrilled by sunflowers!....when we say that our summer annuals are limited, we are forgetting about this lovely, drought resistant & very hardy summer annual. It thrives on neglect and less watering. I think what has made sunflowers out of fashion is that generally only yellow color and small flower head variety is available. If we look around we can find many shades in sunflowers and huge flower heads which produce an unmatched impact. Easy to grow, tall height, fewer pests. Sunflowers is a must for summer if you have space in ground. For container gardeners dwarf varieties are also in the market.

Sunflower Bronze(slightly damaged by caterpillars which seem to have special affinity for all flowers than foliage)

Another color in Acheillia opening up.

Malva Zebrina update....
Regarding the observation of more foliage and less flowers. here is the update....:-). And i can tell you it will get better.
