I am looking for a variety known as "Calendula Princess Mix"... i like calendula for its easiness and long blooming period.. it produces a lost of seeds and a single plant produces enough seeds for a 10-15 feet bed..

@Aykhan, i have one disagreement on amaltas. It causes excessive litter :P

yellow carpet under the tree is a litter to some not to me.
Every profusely flowering tree may it be Budha, Tabebuia, Butea or Cassia will have this carpet, Even my vines Wisteria, Golden shower Produce so much so called litter that it requires daily sweeping.
Amaltas for me and  for you

Agreed. It was on lighter part....
However i would still say that its conditional. Whether one has that kind of effort available. Where the tree is planted. If that's over a bed of flower, its a nightmare atleast for me. :-)

Locating a tree is as important as its selection. The shade can be an advantage and also a disadvantage.

The shade under the tree has been beneficial for my gerberas. There are other plants which grow well under a tree.

I have melia azedarach(dareek) planted all around my backyard. Though it renders valuable shade in summer, but its roots release an enzyme which greatly degrades other plant growth, even stops seeds from sprouting. Its a tactics by the specie to stop competition.

In mesembryanthemum, i have found the perfect partner for sweet peas. Same blooming time of early spring, Mesembry keep the base of sweet peas cool yet not hindering the sunlight. I also tried Nasturtium around sweet peas but they overshadow them, restraining sun-light thereby growth. Gradually my borders are filling up........
