Re: Garden Log 2014-15
Current picture.....as it evolves. i am hoping for a prime one around 15 April, that is if i am here, or else i will share it in absentia. Much is yet to bloom.....

This is how "I" and hope fully all want to nasturtium to be like. Meaningby less foliage, more flowers and smaller size. But this does not happen in most cases atleast in Up north. Reason is long rainy spells. causing nasturtiums to grow excessively and all the flowers are hidden underneath the foliage....There is no prtotection from rain/water even if they are planted in poor soil....only cultural solution i have observed is to sow them late, very late so that when early spring arrives and winter rains come down, they are smallish and do not get "maast".

Except this particular border, all my prized nasturtiums suffered as stated above. Nothing much could be done, then i thought of making trellis and making them climb like a vine, it is difficult to do that at such advance stage yet results are positive. i could not take before pictures but soon i will share after pictures whereby more more flower are visible and it appears better.

Petunia frillytunia. Unusual flower and foliage. Seedling source Green peace nursery Islamabad.

Only wallflower i believe is garden worthy. Bushier, multiple stocks, medium height and color variation.

The oriental color, but worthy

The one i like the most, So pure

Struggled due cold and wet, finally throwing up some buds, it might endure a little hot i believe. Lion's Ear

Its a beginning. Poppy and Linums, few that i cherish more

Border contains Sparaxis, freesia and Ixias. No sign of buds on ixias as yet

Some randoms

Apologies if i share some plants again, but it is as they improve their outlook with time. Flower power

Hanging Petunia

Alstroemeria

layia Elegans and Arctotis

Re: Garden Log 2014-15
It was all suppose to peak up by 10 April, however frequent winter rains delayed and spoiled much, and then the forecasted 10 days Spring rains are going to desolate the proceedings. Therefore, i am preempting that this will be my final picture as regards to Landscape, as heavy nature of coming rains accompanied with high winds and top heavy plants at the moment are a perfect recipe for gardening disaster. On the other hand heat is also taking its toll and i am unable to keep up the tending as regards to watering and deadheading. I feel tired at times, it is difficult to retain the early bloomers till the late comer open up. Short time, big space and solo effort and lastly the desire for everything to be perfect makes hell of a dent each day.

I remember the forest Gump scene, running like wild, for something unknown, working meticulously and then suddenly realizing, that you are tired.......
Much is yet to bloom as envisaged for the final picture, so i believe it, keeping in view above factors, it would now mostly be individual species which a yet to bloom and i would have to live with defected spaces....something which bothers me much but when you go for variety and vast selection, then this is something you have to accept.
Most probable final Picture of Spring 2015

In essence it is a round of all blooms and borders till now. So here are few border worth sharing
This was the weakest corner last Spring, however this year it is one of the brightest. Plants include Petunia Black Berry, Petunia Lime, Nictonia perfume Mix, Snap/Dahlia/Geranium (Yet to Bloom), Hanging Petunias, Brachycome, Lagnus Ovatus, Emilia, Freesia and Sweetpeas.

First to farewell are these Poppies, Bright little show

Ranunculus and Nasturitums

Orange Collection border, Late bloomers suffer when planted with early bloomers as they are over shadowed. A point to be taken care of...Blooming are, various calendulas, venidium, Dimor and California Poppy

Brachycome and lagnus, Border also included Dahlbery daisy and alyssum (finished blooming), and also emilia which is being overshadowed by Brachyome

Layia Elegans and in the backdrop Cosmos/Dahlia

Califonia Poppy Monarch mix from T & M, biggest disappoint of the season. Vendor claimed numerous showy colors, whereas all blooms are turning out to be standard yellow/orange. Disappointed T & M

Still, all plants of anemone are not blooming at once......

Border includes Arctotis, vedinium, Emilia, Raununculus and petunias, plants in the border yet to bloom include Lagnus, Coreopsis, Holly Celebrity and Snap dragon la bella

Phlox, Linaria and Pansy

Some other borders

Cinerarias

Linum

Mixing it Up with Petunias

Hanging Petunias

Alladin Series is not recommended, does not tolerate dew, tiny amount of water spoils the flower which is also smaller in size as compared to Grandiflora

Lime Green and Black berry is highly recommended. No flower is actually black but in various light conditions it appears to be..

Petunia Frillytunia

Prism Yellow

Pink Morn

Nasturitum coming up fine after making trellis and lot and lots of training

Milkmaid, picture does not do justice, its loaded with blooms

Pheonix Mix

Peach

Mahagony

Black velvet

Apricot

Admirals Standing Tall as of Yet
