These days my mangoes are ripped.these are tree ripped mangoes.please enjoy the King of the fruits in my garden.
although small in size but Anwar is my favorite when it comes to taste, pulp, non fibre quality & fragrance.
fresh shots of my Alexander for Hamad & Rafaiy.it,s a great palm for Peshawar/Islamabad.
Very sweet looking mangoes you have there and i am a already a big fan of your palm ....Is that a kinoo in picture-? My Kinoo´s are also at the same stage....any treatment recommended at this stage? fertili<er, manure, insecticides etc
Waiting to see hamad´s palms ....
Very nice mangoes. Khan saheb how do you prune your mangoes and when? What is the preferred size for mango tree? Should one keep it a certain height or just let it grow?
Khan sb as a general rule mango trees do not shed leaves so no need to prune.only you have cut off the middle twigs or weaker canes.this also improve the air circulation & the tree also gets some good sun rays.what mangoes need is good diet.after the fruit has been finished i will feed my trees with old manure.before the flowering i,l feed them with NPK granular.Khan sb take care not to throw fertilizer near to the trunk.make ditch around the trunk.the ditch should be wide in diameter as the canopy.weed the ditch.mix manure into the soil 1ft away from the trunk.same is the task for NPK.actually the fibrous roots which takes nutrients are exactly under the sread of canopy & not near the main roots which holds the trunk.
for hight i do not keep my trees are certain hights.if you want dwarf mango tree then try Sensation, its very dwarf, good quality fruit.its a mango from Florida.its also a late variety.but one thing is there this US variety can not match our mango taste such as Chunsa,Anwar or Sindhri.our local mango varieties are great in taste.
Rafaiy this is Lisbon lemon.do not fertilize fruit trees when they are in fruit stage.check for pest on regular bases.there a very common pest on fruits,it,s the fruit fly.if u see un mature fruits yellow fruits repeatedly it may be fruit fly.it really harms fruits.i have kinow trees,i ,l post latest pictures Inshallah.
Umar sb I have a few mangoe trees one sibdhri one sarni one dusari and one chaunsa off all of them the sindhri one is very hard to keep I have to tie ropes just to keep the branches from touching the ground when I hard prune the branches tht are falling the regrown branches are less thinner and they fall down again any tips??
Ahmad u can see i have even done it with Anwar in the picture. My sindhri were very good in first year of fruiting.but in the second year unfortunately developed die back.i don,t know what suddely happened to three of my sindri trees.now i have no other option but to replace it with new plants.
remove all the bottom line branches so the tree may gain hight.the upper branches will drop but will not touch the ground.mangoes do not need hard pruning like peaches & plums.
Once upon a time I had an ancestral Mango orchard, I called it a museum of mangoes. Over four generations we brought plants from all over, the latest introduction was of plants from East Pakistan (Gopal Bhog, Seeta Phal, Kacha Meetha and two others), You name it and we had it.
Urbanisation Killed it.
