What went wrong with my Petunia bed?
I planted petunias in pots and some in bed, the one in pots are blooming while those in bed are growing,growing and growing.
In this picture a pot in bloom is embedded in the bed.

Excessive nitrogen... water only when it wilts.. this may trigger blooming....

Same fertiliser was used for pots and beds.
How about more water to leach Nitrogen?

The bed may have sufficient nitrogen... more watering may encourage more leafy growth
