Shades for Amaryllis and Daylilies are up but some damage has already occurred. In future these will be erected on 1st of May and removed 30th Sept.

Nice brig saheb. I am planning for something similar. However, I think it would be ok to take the shade off for amaryllis and Daylilies when monsoon arrives in July and temps fall into the 30s.

The sun is still very bright, the end point is variable.

These shades although Recommended by More Green proved too dense, the plants stopped flowering. Now I am replacing it with a lighter screen.

Nice use of shade for Amaryllis. I think these shades are perfect for the protection of plants from hot and bright sunlight. But you should have to remove these in September.

No the net is too thick for the plants. I had a few pots of Crosendra and Ruellia which were placed under this net, they stopped flowering. I shifted two pots of each to a place getting 6 hours of morning sun. These developed buds in a week and were on bloom while those still under the shade were without any flower.

Ruellia is an invasive plant in Mirpur (A.k) and no doubt it needs full sun.

Kaleem, here is one, I lke it as it stays in bloom through out the summer. I am looking for the pink one.



I am planing to use ruellia as a ground cover, it also flowers profusely. Mine do not seed so should be managable.

Crosendra is really heart snatching plant, I have never seen this before. It has roots,bulbs or tubers? Can we plant it by cuttings?
I will check the pink one for you in Islamabad nurseries.

I like crossandra too and have grown a plant from cutting (very easy)... the yellow one..
