Sir, why dont you try swordtails and platies... they are excellent in keeping algae and mosquito larvae down...

Izhar bhai I have swordtails and platys.. They do great in karachi, but I wonder if they'll be able to tolerate lahore winters since they are tropical fish.. guppys didn't do well last winter in karachi

they could be reintroduced in pond every summer, they are cheap and multiply quickly...

Guppies are used for mosqito control, and were used in Lahore for dengue :)
