Upon insistence of many members specially farhan to post my pics not just on FB and my blog but on forum too, i am posting some uncommon perennials i grew from seed or from cutting myself. Most are pot grown. I am sure it will be an inspiration for many new gardeners to try new things.

Heliotropium arborescens "marine" Seeds from Chiltern UK. Seeds sown in October last year and germination was good. Flowers are very fragrant. Survived the summer as well as monsoon. Then i lost it during shifting of my home.

Image

Asarina climber Probably asarina scandens or purpurea - Seeds from Sun shine seeds germany - Seeds germinated very good. It needs full sun and i gave it partial shade and it was in small pot hence not much flowers. If grown in full sun in soil bed, this vine will cover the while plant.

Image

Oenothera pallida "innocence" Evening primrose Seeds from Chiltern UK. Good germination. It is a fragrant perennial. Again, i did not give it full sun due to its first year. plus it was in pot But if given good sun and soil bed, it will be a good addition. Zahrah nasir from dawn told me that it is a pakka perennial in lahore and islamabad.

Image

Passiflora Incense Grown from cutting give to me by a friend. Great flower power. Good fragrance too. Plant is in soil bed but flowers on terrace because sun exposure is only on terrace.

Image

Echinacea Purpurea - White Swan Seeds from Chiltern Seeds UK. Good germination. Fragrant flower. Very good drought resistance. Needs good drainage as the one in soil bed died but one in pot remained. But it will grow much better in soil bed as mine in pot is yet to give offsets. Better sown in situ as the tap root mind if disturbed once established. Needs full sun.

Podranea ricasoliana 'Pink Trumpet Vine' Grown from a cutting taken from a plant given to me by Mir afzal sb. Mild strawberry fragrance. All flowers do not bloom at once but in sequence. So it flowers from october start to november end. It is in soil bed just under need tree but flowers on terrace due to sun exposure.

Image

Cyrtanthus mackenii - Ifafa lily - probably i posted it before. But is a bulbous plant famous for its long flowering and fruity fragrance. It flowers from november till march in lahore. From amaryllis family. Bulbs i got from a friend for a cheap price. A must have for lahore if you can find the bulbs. Its fragrance give competition to murraya and ylang ylang vine.

Beautiful flowers. One first look it looks like that someone has pinched holes in Passiflora. :D
