Brig sb, This is why daylilies are priced bw 0.5usd - 5000usd.Leave 5000usd aside most of the new intros are sold bw 150-300usd.Even the bulk of varieties that I have are sold in the west bw 50usd-200usd.Why ? Due to ruffled edges, bloom size , reblooming habbit and high bud count.99% of my daylilies are rebloomers and some are multibloomers.Rebloomers bloom twice in a year whereas multibloomers bloom all summer repeatedly.I have some which has bud count as high as 55 buds to a scape and some with 20.This is wht makes the diffrence. When I got them people said they dnt give more than 6-7 flowers per scape.I imported them and planted in the summer heat of May and still I managed to get 20-30 buds / scape from several varieties.People here in Pakistan buy local or seed grown plants and expect that they should flowerlike american hybrids and their verdict is based upon this. There are many people who have been growing american hybrids for the past few years now and their thoughts are no diffrent to mind.

Normally you get 30 buds / daylily. They do rebloom so you have another 30 days of flower.

I cut daylily scapes when there are 3 buds left on it.Daylily as cut flower would serve 3 days most.If you put a scape which has 10 buds on it in a vase it'll flower for 3 days only, rest of the buds will die.

Umar, This one will be available december again.I dont have much space to keep them.I imported around 600 diff varieties , all sold out.Got only 50-70 plants left. Will be importing them again in december / january.I'll let u know. I like ruffled ones more than the double ones. They are fantastic with their frilly edges. Most of these are fragrant too.

Louisiana Iris can also be tried.A few gardeners I know are having good experience already.Watsonia, glad's cousin shud also do well here.I am getting around 40diff bulb varieties from abroadnext weke which are not available here already.Hope they adjust here.I believe passionate gardeners shud keep looking to add to their gardening interests.A keen gardener shud be diff from ordinary ones.I am also getting endangered declared ixia viridiflora and lachenalia viridiflora next week.Every plant is beautiful whether amaryllis, daylily or even grass alone.A gardener shud explore the colors of nature.
