Artabotrys fragrance was quite strong since I noticed it passing by and it was a single bloom. So presuming a plant would have dozens of blooms it's surrounding area would definitely be quite fragrant especially in the evenings and on humid days. However, I only noticed fragrance once the flower was yellow and when it is yellow it only lasts a day. If you so much as touch it then it will fall off.

Chandos Beauty now fully open. Excellent fragrance and beautiful well formed flower. Twilight Zone also bloomed and as expected is more of a dark deep pink then a true smokey dark purple. Maybe as the bloom ages I'll see dark purple color!

Aoa Khan sb this is because of warm weather.i think Laore weather may be round about 40-42 C.you will get pure purple in Sep-dec as the temps drop.Color change due to temps is very true for dark colors specially dark reds & purples.Dr many Beaumatia grandiflora,Irises,Amaryllis, star jasmeens & roses are in bloom.i am really enjoying them these days in my garden.Gardenias are full of flower buds.having a beautiful garden is an Allah gift.Dr sb Artabotrys never flowered for me.whats the secret of its flowering.

Khan Saheb I wonder if its about the plant itself. I mean I bought the plant when it was in flowers so was sure the dormancy has broken. Also I have my plant where it will get sun several hours a day and longer in the summer. However, only one bloom so far probably men's the plant needs another year to establish before becoming full of blooms. When I bought it it as three blooms.

I keep posting updates on this gardenia bush since last year we had a lengthy thread on gardenias and there was a lot of discussion if a gardenia bush can fill up with blooms in Lahore. I believe Mir Saheb or Izhar even posted a picture of what a gardenia bush full of blooms should look like. This plant is barely a year old, suffered through a transplant in the winter from pot to bed and now it has atleast 25 blooms on it with as many more buds! So what we can say for sure is that atleast certain gardenias can become full of blooms in Spring time Lahore and similar climate. In this season I have seen no bud drop so far and every bud on every bush has been blooming so far.
