I'm not sure how it will change its cycle. It was dormant when it came 8 months ago and only just sprouted! Probably means its been dormant for about a year. I read these flowering size bulbs need probably two years to build roots before they flower. Lets see what happens! The story continues.......

I have not been able to followup on this post for a while. To update, the leaves grew big and thick and stayed that way throughout fall. Sometime in winter they started yellowing as you can see from the first picture. Currently the bulb is dormant again as seen in the next picture. I think if the roots have developed by now it should flower after the summer dormancy.

From a local person doing private buissness Adnan. I do not pursue him anymore due to bad experience. BTW I think this bulb does not give offsets and its been doing alright in sun. In it local habitat it has full sun.

So finally after a year and a half the bulb bloomed. However, what was ironic and tragic was that it bloomed at a time when I was out of the country for two weeks!! Imagine that! What is more ridiculous is that the Mali didn't even bother to inform my family that this much awaited bulb had bloomed! So basically just the Mali enjoyed it and I'm not sure he did. Also no pics of the bloom :(

Suffice to say though that this bulb will flower in Lahore. The only question remains is that will it flower predictably in August every year?!

It means we should have to wait for one year more to enjoy the bloom and Mali should be fired with 222..........
