AOA,
Can any body kindly advise why my gardenia plant leaves suddenly started turning brown and eventually the plant dies. My 3 or 4 flowering plant died due to this problem. No change in the existing environment. Normal watering. No additional fertilizers just routine ones. Soil PH is also 4 to 5.

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions.

Regards
Asif.

Dear Izhar Sb,

Thanks for your swift response.
They are newly grown from the cuttings of old plants (which I took from them before dying). They are hardly 3 to 4 months old. Potting mix is coco chips with very little fertilizer (Osmocote).

Regards
Asif.

The winter season is harsh for tropical grown gardenia (imported ones)... your potting mix is also not suitable, though i would not suggest changing it now... get some anti-fungal product for plants and drench them with its solution..

Also keep them under full sun..

My Gardenias shed 90% leaves during winters and become cholorotic despite acidic soil, they bounce back by March end....
