Yawer sb,
What color berries and the sizes of your pyracantha plants ? Here is a link if you are interested in propagating more from cuttings
http://www.pyracantha.co.uk/
Karondas were also available at Rs 8 per plant. I am planning to buy in March. I have already planted 100 legistrum as boundary hedge @ 2 rupees per plant purchased from Haripur.
Can you please share name and contact of nursery at Tarnab . I was unable to find thorny roses for fencing at Haripur. Please give some detail what to look for in Mardan roses when buying as i am new to gardening.
Thanks

Thanks for the link. My interest was also to make a living fence. If you search this forum you would find my previous postings on this topic with some more details with some pictures too perhaps. Anyhow, I have about 110 feet long fence on one side of gate. So in order to cover that and also to have variety, planted few roses in which few were Mardan Rose too. As I am not good in flowering plants, so asked them which were good for fences, they gave me few verities and I just planted them and of course would let them grow as much possible with closely spaced. As far as I remember few are English Rose too, and few wild rose too. Many of my fruit plants are from Paracha Nursery in Tarnab so I purchased English Roses and wild ones from there too (Rs. 40 each). Pyracanthas were yellow and orange type as per Nursery man, so yet to see results. Rest were karondas but the ones which give fruiting and not the decorative one ( you would also find previous postings with pictures on this). I bought Karondas from a nursery in Wapda Town lahre for Rs.70 per plant but had fruits on it already so liked those and were really healthy plants.
Hope this helps.
