I have been growing Hibiscus shrubs for many years. After seeing Izhars seed Hibiscus, I have purchased a dozen about 2 feet high plants, some had flowers on them. As usual, he did not know the names, but he confirmed they were of mixed colours.
Are they perennials, shrubs having long life?

Hibiscus moscheutos(the big flower one I grew from seeds) become dormant in winters and need less watering to prevent rotting, they are easy perennials otherwise..

How big the bush becomes? Can they be left in pots? If so for how long.

Sir, I have the dwarf variety which grows well in pots (is about 1.5' max). They need to be chopped down once they become dormant.. in Karachi I haven't seen any shrub doing this so last winter I thought that I lost all my hibiscus (the branches become dry completely) but they sprouted very well in spring from roots..

In that case I dont think they will survive in Lahore. Anyway I have planted 5 in open in the ground and remaining I intend to keep in 14 inch pots under protection. If they survive I will Put them also in ground come spring.

I was surprised to see the 1st bloom of my Hardy Hibiscus. The light blue flower was the biggest flower I have ever seen. I hope it is there, tomorrow for a picture.
