Paneeris for Summer

Hi All,

As the spring plants have started to fade away slowly i'm thinking about starting to plant paneeris for summer.
I live in Lahore and my lawn gets 5-7 hours of direct sunlight in summers.
Keeping in view above plz suggest flowering plants for summer so that i can buy the paneeris and get them plated. Furthermore plz suggest if its good time to plant paneeris for summer.

Yes it is the right time......but as weather is getting really hot....i would advice to plant one paneeri at a time and cover it for few days so that it does not get direct sun....when it is established you can remove covers. Most summer annuals prefer in situ growing.

Hasnain i think Zinnia Elegans is the best choice for summer coloring.F-1 Magellan & Dream land are the best varieties.you can get ready to plant seedlings from nurseries but its good if you go for direct sow.actually zinnia hates root disturbance.so its much better to direct sow where they are to flower.Another good annual is Portulaca.F-1 Sundial is the best annual variety so far.Perinial portulaca is best but has limited color range.
For shady locations specially for pots Coleus is best.its a foliage plant.plant in bright filtered sun but avoid direct sun.Kochia is a nice dot or speciman plant valued for its beautiful foliage.
Balsam is very nice for shady locations but actually is for rainy season.Marigolds perform well after August.they are very good for autumn.but if still you are golds lover & want for summer then don,t plant F-1 Inca but F-1 Discovery.

I plantes some seeds of zinnia and dahlia today but i didn't cover them.I asked maali but he said they should be kept in sun.I m confused now.

This was for seedling/paneeri(plants grown in a pot and than transplanted suffer shock).......seeds sown directly in sun needs not to be covered, rather perform best if they are sun plants. All above mentioned except coleus and balsam are sun plants

Should I ask the Coreopsis, Celiosa & Coleus from the nursery-man by the same name??
