Suggestion

Post by shahwon »

I have a suggestion, due destruction of Trees during the last floods,
We should start Plant a Tree Campaign. Visiting villages, Resorts, Schools
and other such places. Saplings are available for free from the Forest Dept.

If you have a land, you start on your own and invite people to plant a tree in the name of their loved Ones, which will exhibited as a sign on the trunk of the Tree. You only charge an annual fee for maintenance

This is also being done US, which I visited

Planting trees is the easy part, looking after them is the most difficult task.

I had this dream.I shared this idea wid khabbab on last forum. It can only be done if we can successfully aware the kids at school about our enviroment and make them love nature. We'll have to make a team that'd go to schools and give a presentation. If we can set up a task force like that I ll be willing to contribute handsomely for this project.

It's a noble thought indeed. I'm on board if you do make a team. Lets plant Jacarandas, Goldmores and Bottle brushes rather than the sameold Tali and Pipal :D

My appreciations & Thanks to those who have responded to my suggestion.

I am confident that "where there is a will, there is the way"

Visit schools, that do not have any open space, with a few Flower Pots
display it in the class and invite children to name the flower, that starts the Ball rolling
You will serve the Noble cause

Consider me part of the team as well BUT we better talk about the practical aspects like
- Will school admins allow us?
- Children will take interest and how to make it interesting? Who will lead all this.
- TIME, TIME, TIME. Both adnan and me are busy bees!!!!!
- Advertising our effort. This is very important. If others will not know what we are doing, then it will be very difficult.
- Any government hurdles or things like that?
- Those from karachi must be familiar with the blogger http://cropsinpots.blogspot.com/, i think she is a young gardening teacher in a school in karachi. We can take tips from her as well.
