Growing Raspberries and Roses from seeds?

AoA,

I am a newbie, not only to this forum but to the world of plants . I live in DHA II, Islamabad. I recently got seeds for raspberries and different varieties of Roses from a friend, who bought it from China or something.

The Mali at our home said to plant them directly in pots but I wanted to check if its the right season and correct manner to plant the seeds for germination. Thus, here I am seeking help from you people. Can you please help me out? Once again, just remember I am a newbie. I do not know the terms or much at all.

Keep them in fridge... sow them in October
