Aoa Zaib bhai if this is a summer variety it will flower upto moonsoon.u can sow seeds again after moonsoon,it will flower upto first frost.but i think in August Marigold is better than Cosmos.i have only planted cosmos one or two time because i prefer Zinnia in the summer,Marigolds in the August for winter display.

wasalam

well umar bhai, i tried cosmos first time ever. Although i have marigold red double and Gaillardia in pipeline and am gonna sow in couple of days. My zinnia is out in parterre and Balsam is waiting for re-plantation. As i read marigold is good natural repellent for mosquitoes.

Dear Zaib, its exactly the opposite season means to plant them in October for spring blooming. Isloo gets quiet hot and these plants will not bloom properly in heat, although they will grow.

Cosmos Versailles is actually a Cosmos bipinnatus which are suitable for our winter season while Cosmos sulphureus which include the Ladybird, Polidor, Sunset orange, Bright lights etc are summer season bloomers.

My bad. I bought these seeds as per directions and sowing timing on packets. Yes isloo goes hot and all my care and time will be ruined.

I had a argument with seed seller, he is still firm that cosmos will bloom, according to him cosmos blooming or survival may vary as compare to lahore or karachi but he is sure about isloo and northern areas. I said to him straight forward that they should not sell seeds that are meant for winter because we do lot of hard work and care until plantation. So lets see what appears. Hope for the best.

Try Cosmos ladybird. It is a dwarf variety, flower is semi-double and comes in three colors red, orange and yellow.
