I believe Dec- Feb are important months in planting & care of fruit trees. Could someone list the guidelines in this respect, including:
.. Planting: which, when & important tips: I understand the right time is Jan??
.. Protection against weather(frost & cold).I think Papaya,Banana,Leechi,Chico,Guava & Mango need to be covered;deciduous types don’t need it,since they shed their leave.
.. Use of FM manure: Should be used in late Dec - early Jan; the entire ground area under the tree canopy be covered with manure, mixed with soil & fully watered.
.. Use of Fertilizer: Be applied to trees of 2 years age (NPK Angro Zarkhaiz 1/4 Kg) & above (with amount increased by 1/4 kg for every additional year, till maximum 1 kg)
.. Use of Pesticide- Preventive spray:
.. Anti-termite treatment: Other than Citrus, early march (& also early July) with Chloroperiphos etc.
.. Ante leaf curling treatment of Peach & Nectarine at bud swelling in early Feb with Lambda or Karate etc.
.. Application of Burdo Paste ( Lime 1/4 kg & "Neela Thotha" 2 table spoons mixed in 5 lit water) on the base of trunks of all trees, at the start of winters.
.. Pruning: deciduous trees/vines essentially require pruning for better yield & quality. Others can be also pruned/ trained, if are to kept in manageable size.
I have added some information based on only rudimentary knowledge. It may therefore, be inaccurate, as such liable for correction or confirmation as the case may be.
I propose to compile an agreed guidelines/check list for future reference, based on the inputs from various knowledgeable members, after say 7- 10 days’ time, if approved by the Forum Management.

Munir you have gathered great information about fruit trees.Islamabad climate is ideal for citrus so go for Kinow & musami oranges.Don,t plant those fruits which will just waste your time.plant Grapefruits,Kinow,Oranges,Thai lemon,Chinese lemon & meeta.Papaya gives great yields at Islamabad.plant it near to wall which can protect papaya tree from frost.so no need of plastic.If you want to plant mango tree in home then go for Sensation,its size of tree remains dwarf.but one thing its taste is not as good which is of our local varieties keep it in mind.Lychee i think will not give good production at Islamabad due to heavy frost.if you are sure it will produce fruit then plant Surahee Lychee.the fruit taste is superior to the gola type which commonly grown as commercial crop.the reason behind this is very clear.Surahhe type give production one year the next year nothing.then again next year full of fruit.Gola prduce every year.
For Citrus Engro Zarkhez NPK 17+17+17 is an ideal fertilizer.
Another fruit very suitable for Islamabad is Loquat,plant grfyed stuff.the fruit size is bigger & sweeter.As a rule which fruit trees shed foliage like peaches,pears,apricots & plumbs needs hard pruning.it means you will cut all branches at the same level.the plants which do not shed leaves like citrus & mango needs light trimeng.Loquat & lychee do not need pruning.

Umar, thank you for a prompt response.I have planted almost every type of tree at my house, after some study. I shall share my personal experience,soon. The very purpose of my initial post on the suject was to learn from others' experiences, to be able to better look after my fruit trees & ultimately to compile a comprehensive list of guidelines.
Looking forward to a more detailed interaction with u,in this regard.

Swat its the 8 no peach grown in Charbagh.In Mardan Early grain,2 & 3 no peaches are grown.

More inputs;comments,suggestions are eagerly awaited,especially from the more learned ones.

I really want to resolve termites problem which i am facing. Can you suggest my any products which i can try. Does bayer has any thing for it.
Also some of my cirtus plants have this leaf curling issue i have tried some sprays but havent seen much difference.
