That looks scrumptious. May I know the name of this variety for Potohar as you've mentioned?

As this is first fruit so still needs to taste it when they are ripe. My colleagues who have planted it say taste is superb. I didn't ask Dr Iftikhar about name and this is the only variety of fruit which i never asked the name! But I shall ask him on visit after Eid Holidays.
Adjacent to these trees, I have also planted two pomegranate trees from Tarnab which are of different variety in order to compare the fruiting and taste etc.
Tarnab variety is without thorns and Potohar variety has thorns.

The red ones with pink sweet taste is called generally as Tarnab Gulabi and also NARC Gulabi. This week I will also be planting another variety for this region called Angel Red, which has red ruby colored seeds but sweet taste.

Do you have the contact number of Dr. Ifikhar who previously was at NARC. I have his previous number 0333-4215299 but it doesn't seem to be valid now.

Dr Iftikhar number is 0333-5301762
His son is also available and runs the nursery and sells Potohar/Islamabad area variety only. His number is 0344-5313625 (Ishfaq Ahmed).
For Karachi/Hyderabad, I would recommend to ask local experts. For me, as a general principle, if a nursery man can not tell name of variety, I never buy.
