The curious reader should read the story plot of Rapunzel first!

How is this picture connected with Rapunzel: This is what we found in our underground water tank!
It was a really huge (5-6 feet) bunch of root hairs of
Ficus that grew nearby!

That was March. Bauhinia is not at all fragrant; they might have very mild fragrance if smelled with a deep breath.
The "dwarf" ylang-ylang is not a true ylang-ylang from which oils are distilled (which I have been searching for a while). The genus is the same though, it is
Cananga sp. Have you seen true ylang-ylang in Pk? I am curious to know about its availability.
I am also looking for orange variant of Michelia "alba".

I got the Ylang Ylang vine from Pattoki with fragrant flowers on it. They also had large Ylang Ylang trees but I did not go forward to check for fragrance. It was too hot and we wanted to run from there! Michelia champaca and alba are two separate trees. The champaca is supposed to be the one which gives yellow fragrant flowers from which Joy Perfume is made. It is readily available in Lahore. I have one I planted last year and it has doubled in size in semi-shade/filtered light under a neem tree. No flowers yet so no guarantees.

Thank you for the info. Good to know Michelia champaca is available in Pakistan. It is said to bear extremely fragrant flowers.
Ylang-ylang vine is different from the ylang-ylang tree, which is used in Chanel no. 5 perfume. Ylang-ylang tree's main trunk is straight but branches and leaves are drooping. The genuses are different. The former is Artabotrys sp. and true ylang ylang is Cananga odoratissmus. The last time I visited Karachi, ylang ylang vine was way too expensive Rs. 3000 for a small plant from Shalimar. I have been sold the Artabortrys by deception that it will bear very fragrant flowers- so fragrant that "naags" (snakes) come around it. Turned out a local "naag champa" with minimum fragrance!
