I am using 3/4" 200 stainless steel mesh rainbird filter. I posted the pic in the drip irrigation thread. It works fine but I don't have any algal issues. It's surprising actually. PVC and pprc pipes are not the sources of algae in house water lines (as there is no stagnant water), unless u have a hose connection. When not in use hoses have water stagnant in them that serves as a medium for algal growth. Your main PVC(white) or PPRC(green) are not the culprits I believe. Another issue that might need addressing might be your water tank. It helps to get it cleaned/washed by a plumber every 6 months.
Hnasir if u r in lahore haji sons can provide u with 1/2" dripline (actually 16 mm) at 17-19 rupees/foot.
I use 1/4" dripline that takes off from 1/2" main dripline for pots.

Nope I am in Karachi.. Tank is fine, and house water is A-Ok but the PVC pipe from the tank to my plants is the culprit. White PVC is pretty famous for it, I didn't know earlier but learnt the hard way- you can google the problem if you like..

I am thinking of setting another small tank about 2 meters high- since I am using gravity anyway. or I will need a disc filter for algae. nice to know we have the 1/2 inch tubing, what about the 1/4 inch tubing?

Both tubing are available locally. If it's available in lahore it has to be present in karachi
