Normal room temperatures even 40C plus cannot kill bulbs or seeds. Moisture, dryness, fungus, light exposure can effect them.

What are the chances the imported bulbs are alive ?? i have planted shriveled disfigured bulbs or corms to be specific of freesia before and they all sprouted no fatalities

Re: Group Purchase Blooms(Hamad/UK)
I am expecting it to bloom somewhere around December, Not spring
I have planted around 8 bulbs in 14 in Pot for a fuller look.
I recommend 50% sand as also recommended by various sources on internet.
planting depth 3 in

Re: Group Purchase Blooms(Hamad/UK)
Same situation here...babianas and sparaxis dead, coral drops out of eight planted 5 have survived others rotted due to over watering (They need to be kept dry as they are Mexican natives), scilla has started to grow very slow...Ipehions have also sprouted (some bulbs)..Ixias are dormantHamad Ahmed Kisana wrote:tahir bhai any update on bulbs ...from previous purchase i lost babianas completely and sparaxis partially(only 3 sprouted) while coral drops are growing wild almost 20 inches high and falling..and from recent purchase ipheions are sprouting others including ixia, oxalis are still dormant.scilla bulb which was already sprouted is not in good condition..a little bit shriveled and stopped growth color is also yellowish instead of green.will upload photos today INSHAA ALLAH.

Tahir Sparaxis are very hardy bulbs, they should not die like this.I have planted them in past, leaving then un disturb for years. They multiply very fast.Give them sharp drainage. But one thing is there they were in my house at Abbottabad.I left them in the house after sale out.
