Assalam o alaikum everyone!

i'm Rizwan UZ Zaman and i'm a newbie to gardening and to this forum . Well i'm really fond of cooking italian and thai cuisines and for that reason i'm interested in growing some mediterranean and thai herbs/veg. I live here in karachi in an apartment so I'll have to grow them in pots/containers. i want to grow following of the herbs/veg:

-rosemary
-thyme
-basil
-lemon grass
-cherry tomatoes

being a newbie my knowledge is absolutely nil about where to find the plants and their different varieties here in the city, which of the varieties are suitable to grow in pots,the impact of weather, how to take care of them etc etc. all i'm looking here is for a step-by-step expert guide from you experts. i'll feel really privileged if anyone could share their views/opinions/experiences about growing these herbs. also i'm all set to buy if any of the member interested in selling any of these plants. Welcome to the forum... Lemon grass is commonly available from any nursery selling local plants. While for other herbs you can start from seeds. Seed sowing season for most herb is Sep.- Oct. Check this article for seed shops.
