| Other Details | Made for the shade, florists' cineraria adds intense color to dark corners of the garden.Cineraria grows to 2 feet high and wide with daisies ranging in color from white through pink and purplish red to blue and purple. Plants need partial or full shade along with regular water and loose, rich soil. Discard after bloom.There are three basic types: the large-flowered; the stellata or Star-flowered; the intermediate, with flowers similar to the stellata and having the compact growth of the large-flowered; and the dwarf intermediate strain, growing 1-foot tall and having a compact, free-flowering growth. They all come in a wide range of colors.Florist's Cinerarias can be raised freely from seeds. For spring flowering the seeds are sown innovember in well-drained pots or pans, in soil of three parts loam to two parts leaf mould, with one-sixth sand; cover the seed thinly with fine soil, and press the surface firm. |

Seeds come true....but plant will be less floriferous as well as tall & lanky. F-1 makes 6-8 flower bunches, whereas F-2 will make 3-4
Seeds should be surface sown.
Does not benefit much from deadheading.
Can tolerate soggy conditions but lower leaves will be affected
Requires moist conditions, larger leaf size means plant will transpire quick in hot/sunny conditions, thus in our environment it will perform best in morning sun only or shade.
Looks good in mass planting.
