I would agree with you. For details read the interesting article by horticulturist from Washington State University:dragoonsers wrote:I would differ a bit .. Just "spraying" water on roses in the summers midday imo helps the plants cool down in the intense summer sun. The roses do respond to it. I've read everywhere how it causes fungus blah blah blah. And it does BUT the water dries up within a few minutes and no damage is done.

She says that “Watering plants on a hot sunny day will scorch their leaves” is a myth that refuses to die.

If you need 'named' roses then go to the nursery behind Suleman plaza near NIPA chowrangi... i got double delight from there.. large stock of roses to select from...

I have recently developed an interest to grow my own flowers and some herbs and veggies. However i do not own a garden but i get enough sunlight in my backyard. Can i grow roses here in pots? I live in Rahim yar khan, punjab.

I believe you can grow them in pots, but they should be big enough. Please also review other posts on roses on this forum

Re: fertilisers for roses
My husband just bought some rose plants couple of days ago. Do I start adding the Npk fertilizer mentioned in the previous posts, now? And the cow manure? How often shall I add them? Is there a way for those who want to go the organic way?

Re: fertilisers for roses
The roses I've talked about earlier in these posts are still not flowering but there leaves are growing repeatedly. It's been 2 months since the removal of suckers and transfer of them to larger pots but still not blooming Why is that???
