Our weather.......A little cold, brief spring and long hot summer followed by a small window of growing in autumn.
Western weather(UK).......Very cold for 4-5 months and then 6 month long highly favorable weather, almost spring like.

What you should be looking at is favorable temperatures for germination and do not go on months for sowing advice. We have three sowing windows.

Autumn(Oct-Nov) when cool season annuals can be sown as well as all perennials.
Early Spring(March-Apr) when summer annuals can be sown as well as perennials but its better to start perennials in fall.
Third window is just after monsoon, when some summer annuals such as marigolds and Celosias can be sown.

Now the above windows are favorable windows, one can attempt sowing in other months also but EXTREME diligence will be required in creating a macro climate as well as very good sowing media to be successful.

Now if something germinates at 20 Deg Celsius, is this all you require to sow a specie. NO.....You also need to look, is enough time available in the season(favorable growing conditions) for that specie to grow healthy and flower/fruit.

Example. Snap dragon will germinate in late winter/early spring but can we sow them then? No....because if sown in February Snaps will not have time left to grow to their full size and flower. As soon as the heat arrives(late spring)....Snaps will bolt and flower at very young age.

Even most summer annuals of west will behave as our cool season annuals....one example is Dahlia

But isn't Sept the start of the autumn season and not Oct? At least in Karachi it is if I am not mistaken..

Fall is categorized by certain minimum temperatures. Frankly speaking Karachi experiences a half hearted fall or you can say very short fall . And its in November.

However if you are asking from the perspective of sowing cool season veggies, then yes you can sow them in October, when temperatures come down(remember Temp is Key, rest are guide lines)........BTW September is the hottest month in Karachi

They will either burn up if grown in full sun or survive if grown in shade and by time will get lanky and attacked by pests such as white flies and spider mites

We, i.e. in Karachi are closest to USDA Zone 10b in terms of monthly temperatures and rainfall but still there will be some variations. I have used the Gardenate guide for the past 12 months and it seems near enough with some variations for the late monsoon ??? ( End August rains ??? ) and hot October in Karachi
