I want to grow coriander in 18 inch wide container for kitchen use. Every time when I sow the seeds, they develop very thin and long stems which are very fragile and they fall after a day or two reaching a length of 4 inches. After falling a few survive and develop a couple of more leaves. I dont see any resonable growth. the leaves then either wither out of stick to the soil and rot. Kindly help me growing coriander in pot. (I use regular dry coriander seeds from kitchen used in cooking).

This is expected if you grow dhania in pots with little sunlight. This behaviour is called etiolation. You are probably over watering as well. Sunlight plus well draining soil rich in well rotten khaad is the way to go. Also confirm the local season for growing dhania in your area. It will not thrive in winter.
