can this soil is used as a bhall? it is come out in the process of "boring" and also called "rait'lee metti". it absorbs water very quickly and dried up equally. please guide

Bhal matti is apparently equivalent to silt. If your matti out of the "boring" process is too sandy, I mean, it does not hold water, then it might not be useful. It is difficult to generalize. Someone enlightened in geology can guide us as to what is the equivalent term for bhal or "bhallu" matti in geological terminology. Thanks

From appearance it looks like quite sandy. No boring soil can be equivalent to Bhal (alluvial Soil) because bhal gets its characteristics by traveling through rivers/lands etc. Even if bhal is deposited somewhere through time it would be in the vicinity of rivers/past rivers and not that deep.

wet the soil and make a dough in hand, see how it behaves, meaning by holds or breaks. share images

Generally according to my knowledge if the soil behaves like a rock when watered and made dough it is not for exotic plants but it can be used for herbs.

so this soil cannot be used as sowing media with leaf mold and manure

we use this soil for our bottle palm trees in Lahore and they grew much faster then other same old trees in neighborhood. we mix bhal with general soil and natural fertilizer. if its a boring soil then it falls under 2 categorize according to Geology: Sandy Clay or clayey sand.
