small tree

please identify this tree.it is growing in front of my neighbours's house.its a small tree almost 8-9 feet tall with small leaves and small purple and white bunches of flowers,small orange color fruit.blooms frequently,also tell me that can we grow it in subtropical climate like sargodha,punjab/.picture quality is poor,if nobody can recognize then i'll try to take another one.

This is one of the most beautiful trees of Karachi, with blue and white flowers which eventually cover the whole tree. It is called Lignum vitae. Nursery men call it by various names such as ling-gum, Lignus and so on. The only drawback with this tree is that one has to plant it in his/her youth to see it flower. Very very slow grower. If you ever buy it, buy a large plant. Lignum cannot tolerate cold e.g. like that of Islamabad.

thanx farooq bhai,four trees are in front of my home and all are flowering and looks so beautiful, i thought if they are small they must be young

Yes Farooq sb. one of the most beautiful and common tree of karachi.

Ah so many of these planted in my house- I do have a picture of them in full bloom- I will find it and post it. Its also called 'Laghlum' in urdu.
